Walker Lambert is a graphic designer obsessed with geometric shapes and groovy linework. He works primarily in the music merch industry, creating visuals for bands that blend illustration and typography. Off the clock, he can be found loitering at the skatepark or at a SF Giants game.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU NEED A BREAK?
I walk. (Yes, my name is Walker. Yes, I’ve heard all the jokes.) Whether it’s a quick trip to the store or a hike through the woods, walking resets my brain.
WHERE DO YOUR BEST IDEAS COME FROM? (DREAMS, SHOWER, MUSEUM, TRAIN?)
Motion. Walking, running, cycling, driving. . . . My thoughts wander best when I do.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST ART INSPIRATION? THIS MAY NOT BE VISUAL. LIKE, ANYTHING!
Nature. A horizon line always seems to sneak its way into everything I create.
HOW DOES CREATIVITY RUN IN YOUR FAMILY, EVEN IF IT’S NOT DESIGN-RELATED?
My family’s split down the middle: half scientists, half creatives. I landed on the artsy side, alongside my sister, who’s a writer. She helps me with copy, and I help her with imagery for her beautiful poetry and stories.
HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE THE COMPLETION OF A BIG PROJECT?
With a big ol’ burrito.
